Beth Carl – 2018 Special Olympics Kansas Volunteer of the Year

Beth has been volunteering for Special Olympics Kansas for more than a decade.

She has been a go-to volunteer at all Special Olympics Kansas related events in the South Central Region. She has assisted with sports, the auction, the Polar Plunge and more. Beth does it all!

Over the years more and more of Beth’s family and friends have supported Special Olympics programs in the region as well. She is a great recruiter!

Beth runs the staging portion of the regional track meet. Her friends and family take a gym at regional basketball and run the entire event from officiating to scorekeeping. Beth helps run absolutely every regional event in the Wichita area and has helped at Summer games!

EVENTS

In June, Team Kansas will represent our state at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games — competing against thousands of athletes from across the country. For many, it’s the biggest moment of their athletic career.

But here’s the reality: getting our team to Minnesota doesn’t happen without serious community support. Travel, uniforms, equipment, meals, and competition fees add up fast. Every dollar raised goes directly toward making sure our athletes can focus on one thing — competing their hearts out.
