DESCRIPTION:Young Athletes FestJune 5\, 2026 | 4:00 PM – 6:00 PMMaize South High School \nJoin us for the Young Athletes Fest\, an exciting celebration of sports\, play\, and inclusion for the next generation of Special Olympics Kansas athletes! This event is open to ALL children ages 2–12 and is designed to introduce young participants to the joy of movement and teamwork in a fun\, supportive environment. \nParticipants will rotate through a variety of interactive activity stations focused on building foundational skills such as running\, balance\, jumping\, throwing\, and kicking. DESCRIPTION:Join us for Healthy Athletes at Summer Games\, where Special Olympics Kansas athletes can receive free health screenings and wellness education while competing at one of the biggest events of the year. \nThe Healthy Athletes screenings will take place on June 6\, 2026\, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Maize South High School as part of the exciting Special Olympics Kansas Summer Games. \nHealthy Athletes® is a Special Olympics program offered at Summer Games that provides athletes with free health screenings\, education\, and follow-up resources in a welcoming and supportive environment. Through a team of trained medical professionals and volunteers\, athletes receive care across multiple health disciplines designed to identify unmet health needs and promote lifelong wellness. Healthy Athletes® helps athletes compete at their best while building healthier habits that extend beyond competition. \nAthletes will have the opportunity to participate in six different Healthy Athletes disciplines\, including: \n\nOpening Eyes – Vision and eye health screenings\nHealthy Hearing – Hearing and audiology screenings\nSpecial Smiles – Dental health screenings and education\nHealth Promotion – Prevention and nutrition education\nFUNfitness – Physical therapy assessments for strength\, flexibility\, and balance\nFit Feet – Foot and ankle screenings and footwear education\n\nVolunteers play a vital role in making Healthy Athletes possible.
