DESCRIPTION:Riley County Torch RunJune 4\, 2026 | 11:30 AM – 2:00 PM \nJoin us for the Riley County Torch Run as law enforcement officers and community members come together to support Special Olympics Kansas through the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR). \nThe day will begin with the torch pickup in Manhattan before making its way to the Ogden Community Center (220 Willow St)\, where the Torch Run team is expected to arrive around noon. Following arrival\, participants will gather for team photos at 12:30 PM in front of the RCPD food truck before continuing the run. \nAt approximately 1:00 PM\, runners will carry the Flame of Hope to the Ft. Riley gate for a special torch handoff with Military Police. After the run\, participants will return to the Ogden Community Center to cool off and celebrate with popsicles. \nThis meaningful event highlights the strong partnership between law enforcement\, military personnel\, and Special Olympics Kansas\, all working together to champion inclusion and opportunity for athletes across the state. \nCome out to cheer on the runners\, support the cause\, and be part of this inspiring community tradition!

This free health program provides Special Olympics athletes with professional hearing screenings and education to help ensure they can perform at their best both on and off the court. \nHosted at the Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays\, athletes will meet with trained health professionals who will conduct hearing screenings\, identify potential concerns\, and provide guidance on hearing health and follow-up care if needed. Healthy Hearing helps detect hearing issues early so athletes can stay connected\, communicate effectively\, and fully participate in sports and daily life. \nThe screening will take place on March 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. alongside the excitement of the State Basketball Tournament. \nVolunteers are also needed to assist with event setup and support throughout the day\, including helping with tables\, chairs\, and maintaining the screening space. \nHelp support athlete health and make a difference by volunteering or stopping by to learn more about the Healthy Athletes program! \nVolunteer here!
