Sycamore St. Wichita\, KS\nDistance: 3.1 Miles \nAs retired Wichita Police Chief Richard LaMunyon once said\, “What started in 1981 as a flicker of hope in Wichita\, Kansas for Special Olympics has now become a roaring flame of stability for Special Olympics athletes worldwide.”   Become a part of history as the Kansas Law Enforcement Torch Run proudly host the “Roaring Flame 5K” to benefit Special Olympics Kansas the weekend before Opening Day.  This event will begin in the parking lot of our new stadium downtown and make its’ way along the river passing thru the Keeper of the Plains.  This timed race will proudly end inside our new stadium.  Concessions will be open and a tour of the stadium will be available. \nSpecial Olympics Kansas proudly serves 5\,000 athletes offering year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.   Awarding the inspiring athletes that participate in the Special Olympics is one of many joyful experiences that take place after a sporting event finishes.  Our inspiring race will also acknowledge the top performers based on gender and age groups that compete in our timed race. \nAdditional details about the Roaring Flame 5K include: \nOnline registration deadline: Friday March 27th by Midnight \nOnline registration price:  $30 for age 18 and $25 for age 17 and under \nRegistration price after deadline:  $35 for age 18 and $30 for age 17 and under \n5K Race T-Shirt\, a Race Bib\, and a Tour of the Stadium is included \nDay of event registration & check-in:  7:30 AM in the west parking lot of stadium \nRace start time:  9:00 AM \nAwards presentation:  Immediately following the race \nWe are grateful for the opportunity to host this event at Wichita’s beautiful new stadium “Home of the Wichita Wind Surge”.  Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) is changing the future for people with intellectual disabilities.  Through the LETR and Special Olympics partnership we are lighting the way for acceptance and inclusion.

Sycamore St. Wichita\, KS\nDistance: 3.1 Miles \nAs retired Wichita Police Chief Richard LaMunyon once said\, “What started in 1981 as a flicker of hope in Wichita\, Kansas for Special Olympics has now become a roaring flame of stability for Special Olympics athletes worldwide.”   Become a part of history as the Kansas Law Enforcement Torch Run proudly host the “Roaring Flame 5K” to benefit Special Olympics Kansas the weekend before Opening Day.  This event will begin in the parking lot of our new stadium downtown and make its’ way along the river passing thru the Keeper of the Plains.  This timed race will proudly end inside our new stadium.  Concessions will be open and a tour of the stadium will be available. \nSpecial Olympics Kansas proudly serves 5\,000 athletes offering year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.   Awarding the inspiring athletes that participate in the Special Olympics is one of many joyful experiences that take place after a sporting event finishes.  Our inspiring race will also acknowledge the top performers based on gender and age groups that compete in our timed race. \nAdditional details about the Roaring Flame 5K include: \nOnline registration deadline: Friday March 27th by Midnight \nOnline registration price:  $30 for age 18 and $25 for age 17 and under \nRegistration price after deadline:  $35 for age 18 and $30 for age 17 and under \n5K Race T-Shirt\, a Race Bib\, and a Tour of the Stadium is included \nDay of event registration & check-in:  7:30 AM in the west parking lot of stadium \nRace start time:  9:00 AM \nAwards presentation:  Immediately following the race \nWe are grateful for the opportunity to host this event at Wichita’s beautiful new stadium “Home of the Wichita Wind Surge”.  Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) is changing the future for people with intellectual disabilities.  Through the LETR and Special Olympics partnership we are lighting the way for acceptance and inclusion.
