DESCRIPTION:Registration information will be sent to local programs in early fall. \nNEW! We are trying a different participation policy for the West Region Bowling tournament on October 21st. Athletes in communities where there is not currently a local program can register and compete as an individual. This is on a trial basis only for this event. DESCRIPTION:Join us and beat the heat this summer at our Midnight Run 5K/10K for Special Olympics. This event is presented by the Leawood Police Department\, a participating agency in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Kansas\, and features a fast course through the streets of Leawood. Your participation will help raise money for Special Olympics and finishers in both the 5K and 10K Run/Walk will receive a custom finishers medal! We will start both events at Midnight on Saturday night at the Camelot Court Shopping Center near 117th and Roe in Leawood and will utilize the tree-lined Tomahawk Creek Parkway for the course\, with one lap for the 5K and two laps for the 10K. Due to limitations on road closures\, the 10K is a run only event with a one hour and 15 minute time limit.
