
This Hall of Fame inductee proves that age is no barrier to pure joy in competition. At 87 years old, Beulah “Bootsie” Batalia continues to inspire everyone around her as a dedicated athlete with the Mosaic Pittsburg program. For more than 20 years, she has competed in track and field, bocce, cornhole, basketball, bowling, and Senior Unified sports, bringing enthusiasm to every event.
Bootsie is known for her contagious smile, love of competition, and the unshakable energy she brings to the field. Alongside her best friend and teammate, Terri, she’s become part of an iconic duo whose presence makes every event brighter. The two are known for their constant high fives, laughter, and unwavering support for their fellow athletes.
Even as the years pass, Bootsie never slows down. Her positive attitude reminds us all that Special Olympics isn’t just about sports, it’s about community, connection, and celebrating every moment together. Tonight, we are honored to recognize a woman who uplifts everyone she meets and whose lifelong love of sport continues to inspire athletes and coaches alike.
