Cameron Juencke has been part of the Special Olympics family since 2016, and his journey is a powerful example of growth, confidence, and community. He began through Unified Sports in high school, competing in basketball, soccer, and bowling, and later expanded into traditional Special Olympics sports including softball, volleyball, bowling, skiing, weightlifting, track, and flag football.
Through Special Olympics, Cameron has built confidence, strength, and lifelong friendships. When he was younger, Cameron struggled with low muscle tone that made many physical activities difficult. As he grew older and stayed involved in sports, he gained strength and overcame those challenges—something he is incredibly proud of today.
Cameron takes pride in all the hard work he’s put into Special Olympics, earning medals, trying new sports, and meeting friends along the way. Beyond competition, he is deeply involved in his community. Cameron works as a barista and cashier at Dialogue Coffee House, where he has been employed for more than six years. He is also active in his church, participates in Young Life, volunteers when he can, and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Cameron admires his dad most, describing him as someone who can fix or build anything and always wants the best for his family. A fun fact about Cameron: he’s great at whistling and enjoys drawing.
Attending the 2026 USA Games will be Cameron’s first USA Games experience. To him, it’s an opportunity to work together with his team, strive for gold, and give his best effort—win or lose. He’s especially excited for the events, the fun, and meeting new friends along the way. Cameron is preparing by practicing regularly with his flag football team and staying active.
Cameron’s dedication, positivity, and love for his Special Olympics community make him an outstanding representative of Kansas at the 2026 USA Games.
