Young Professionals Committee
The mission of Special Olympics Kansas Young Professionals Committee is to raise awareness, recruit volunteers, and plan and implement various social and fundraising events to support the Special Olympics Kansas movement, as well as build the next generation of leaders. YPC members will use their professional experience, community affiliations, and business connections to engage others with various Special Olympics events.
At this time, Special Olympics Kansas is looking for members aged 22-39 to connect with other individuals who are passionate about raising awareness to help end discrimination against people with intellectual disabilities through networking events, group outings, volunteer opportunities, and fundraising events. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee
The Special Olympics Kansas Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee will work together to develop and integrate best practices for diversity, equity, and inclusion into Special Olympics policies, strategic plans, and programs. This committee will serve as an advisory board and will provide research, recommendations, event support, and policy guidance to Special Olympics Kansas.

Youth Activation Committee
Youth are educating, empowering, activating, and motivating people to foster respect, dignity, and advocacy for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Through Special Olympics and the Youth Activation Committee, youth serve as leaders by implementing programs that unify schools, transform communities, and promote acceptance and inclusion for all. Special Olympics Kansas is looking for youth leaders to join the movement. You will educate other youth that intellectual disabilities cross all boundaries of age, gender, religion and culture. Youth leaders help carry out the mission of Special Olympics and promote inclusive environments in their schools and communities.
Athlete Leadership Council
The Kansas Athlete Leadership Council (KSALC) is a way for Special Olympics Kansas leaders to be in touch with athlete interests and opinions on needed improvements, sports, competitions, coaching and other programs. It is a place for athletes to practice leadership skills, and a way for athletes to provide input and feedback to and from schools, group homes, day training programs and other athletes.
Members of the KSALC are provided with leadership training opportunities and expected to hold positions on committees within or outside of SOKS. They are also expected to work together to facilitate training programs for other SOKS athletes and participate in fundraising efforts to sustain KSALC programs.

Awards Committee
The Awards Committee oversees the annual awards presented by SOKS.
MEMBERSHIP: Last 4 Coach of the Year Award winners, willing & available. 1 Representative of Last 2 Family of the Year Award Winners, willing & available. 2 SOKS athletes selected from ALC or ALP. Last Volunteer of the Year Award Winner or 1 former winner selected by President-elect. The Chairperson is to be selected from these Members by president-elect.

Development Committee
Special Olympics Kansas is always seeking local community leaders to help serve on our various fundraising committees. Often working in tandem with the Kansas Law Enforcement Torch Run and its representative agencies, our development committees work on the local level to secure sponsorships, seek participants, and volunteer the day of the event. Experience is not necessary! Development committees are open to anyone wanting to make an impact while having fun! Fundraising events vary from Polar Plunges, Truck Convoys, Fishing Tournaments, Truck Pulls, Auctions, Ceremonial Torch Runs, and so much more!
