The West Regional Bowling competition is returning to Hays this fall as athletes from across western Kansas come together for an exciting day of strikes, spares, and spirited competition. Hosted at Centennial Lanes, this event is one of the highlights of the Special Olympics Kansas fall sports season and provides athletes with intellectual disabilities the chance to showcase their skills, celebrate achievements, and connect with teammates, coaches, and the community.
Bowling is one of the most popular and inclusive sports offered by Special Olympics Kansas, welcoming athletes of all ability levels. At the West Regional, participants will compete in singles, doubles, and team play. Each match is an opportunity for athletes to demonstrate not only their athletic growth but also the teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship that define Special Olympics competition.
Community support plays a vital role in making this event possible. Volunteers are needed throughout the day to assist with athlete check-in, lane support, scorekeeping, awards, and more. Volunteering at the West Regional Bowling competition is an excellent way to get involved, meet inspiring athletes, and make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities. No prior bowling experience is required—just a willingness to help and cheer on the athletes.
Spectators are encouraged to attend and experience the energy and joy that fills the lanes during competition. Admission is free, and the event provides a wonderful opportunity for families, friends, and community members to come together in celebration of inclusion.
Join us in Hays for the 2025 Special Olympics Kansas West Regional Bowling Competition and be part of a day that highlights ability, determination, and community pride.
