USA Games Athlete Spotlight: Seth Spainhour

Hometown: McPherson
Sport: Powerlifting

Seth Spainhour has been involved with Special Olympics for nearly 10 years, dedicating himself to the sport of powerlifting. Through Special Olympics, Seth has built a more sustainable and consistent approach to health and fitness, learning the importance of staying committed to a training plan and working alongside volunteers who support his success. Training three times a week, powerlifting has become a passion in his life.

Before joining Special Olympics, Seth wrestled in high school, an experience that helped shape his strong work ethic and competitive mindset. One of the most influential people in his athletic journey has been Coach K, who gave Seth the opportunity to wrestle and has continued to be a meaningful mentor and support.

Outside of sports, Seth enjoys reading, watching YouTube, and going to the casino. He currently works at Pfizer and takes pride in balancing his career with his athletic training. Being invited to compete is an honor Seth is deeply grateful for, and he approaches every opportunity with appreciation and determination. His long-term commitment, consistency, and positive attitude make him a valued member of the Special Olympics community.
