The health education resources and tools found on this page are geared towards Special Olympics athletes and other people with intellectual disabilities.
Athletes might receive referrals for follow-up care from any of the Healthy Athletes screenings, and Special Olympics Kansas is committed to assisting them find the services and resources that they require when they return to their local communities.
Special Olympics Health Messengers are athletes who are trained to serve as health and wellness leaders, educators, advocates and role models. They are leading their teams, families, friends and communities to pursue healthy lifestyles.
Get ready for a quacking good time at the Duck N’ Jeep Derby, hosted by Special Olympics Kansas and the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office! Taking place on September 7th, 2024, at Gorilla Village, Pittsburg State University, this online event promises a day of fun-filled excitement for a great cause.
Join in on the action by participating in the Pluck A Duck activity! Ducks are available for purchase online for just $5 each, or you can opt for a deal with 3 ducks for $10 or a Quack Pack of 10 ducks for $20. Don’t miss your chance to win fantastic prizes – drawings and prize announcements will take place at 2:30, with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners mentioned and available for collection.
To secure your spot in the derby, register online in advance for an entry fee of $25. Prefer to register at the gate? No problem! Entry fees will be $30 on the day of the event. Whether you’re a jeep owner or just looking for a fun way to support Special Olympics Kansas, this event is open to everyone.
