Join us for the 2024 Unified Basketball Match Day, happening on October 19th at Topeka West High School and Shawnee Mission South High School! This exciting event will take place from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, bringing together athletes with and without intellectual disabilities to compete in basketball, showing inclusion, teamwork, and fun.
Unified Sports® is a key component of Special Olympics, encouraging friendship and understanding between athletes of all abilities. On Match Day, teams will be formed with both Special Olympics athletes and Unified partners (athletes without intellectual disabilities) to participate in a series of basketball games. These events showcase the true power of sport to break down barriers, create connections, and foster a sense of community.
Whether you’re a fan of basketball, a supporter of Special Olympics, or simply looking to enjoy a morning of inclusive sports, Unified Basketball Match Day is the perfect opportunity. In addition to the competitive action, this event emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and the joy of playing together.
We invite you to come cheer on the athletes, witness their incredible skills, and experience the unique camaraderie that defines Unified Sports. If you’re interested in volunteering, we’d love to have your support. Sign up or find more information on our event page: 2024 Unified Basketball Match Day.
