The health education resources and tools found on this page are geared towards Special Olympics athletes and other people with intellectual disabilities.
Athletes might receive referrals for follow-up care from any of the Healthy Athletes screenings, and Special Olympics Kansas is committed to assisting them find the services and resources that they require when they return to their local communities.
Special Olympics Health Messengers are athletes who are trained to serve as health and wellness leaders, educators, advocates and role models. They are leading their teams, families, friends and communities to pursue healthy lifestyles.
321 Fit – Celebrating Abilities, Fostering Inclusion

Join us for 321 Fit, an inspiring and inclusive event dedicated to promoting physical activity for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Hosted by the Kansas City Alliance for Physical Activity in IDD, this event is designed to celebrate abilities, foster inclusion, and encourage healthy, active lifestyles.
Inspiring Speakers – Hear from community leaders and self-advocates about the power of physical activity in transforming lives.
Inclusive Fitness Stations – Enjoy fun, engaging activities set up along the indoor track, designed for all ability levels.
Breakout Sessions – Gain insights from self-advocates as they share their personal experiences and the importance of staying active.
Volunteer Report Time: 7:30 AM – 12:30 PM (Opportunities to stay longer and assist with the Down Syndrome Innovations Walk-Through Parade)
Parking: Available in the lower lot near the softball/baseball fields and indoor track. Event staff will provide directions upon arrival.
