Get ready for a fun-filled morning of learning, playing, and competing at the KC Metro Pickleball Clinic & Tournament on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Two Trails Park in Olathe! This exciting event is designed for Special Olympics Kansas athletes of all experience levels—from first-time pickleball players to seasoned competitors.
The day kicks off with a clinic where athletes will receive hands-on instruction from knowledgeable volunteers and coaches. Whether you’re brand new to the sport or looking to sharpen your skills, the clinic will provide a welcoming environment to learn proper techniques, rules of the game, and court strategies. Athletes will have the chance to practice their serve, rally, and gameplay through engaging drills and friendly matches.
Following the clinic, athletes will put their skills into action in a mini pickleball tournament. Players will be grouped based on skill level to ensure fair and fun matchups. The tournament will conclude with a medal ceremony, where participants will be celebrated for their hard work, sportsmanship, and progress in the sport.
Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, and this event offers a perfect opportunity for athletes to try something new, build confidence, and stay active—all while having a great time with friends and teammates in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Family members, friends, and fans are welcome to attend and cheer on the athletes! For more information or to get involved as a volunteer, reach out to Chris Burt.
Don’t miss this unique blend of learning and competition—see you on the court!
