Hometown: Flag Football

Wyatt Higgins has been part of Special Olympics Kansas for more than a decade, competing in flag football and finding confidence, purpose, and pride through sport. As a quarterback, he’s learned how to handle pressure, stay positive, and keep his teammates motivated no matter the score. For Wyatt, Special Olympics has given him a way to feel proud of his accomplishments and enjoy the game while lifting others up along the way.
One of Wyatt’s proudest moments is being selected to compete in flag football at the 2026 USA Games. He is also proud of his team, the New Hope Bulldogs, who became national champions in football and earned medals at competitions together. He values the friendships and teamwork that come from competing side by side with his teammates.
Off the field, Wyatt enjoys playing video games with his roommate and helping with Special Olympics Kansas events whenever he’s needed. He works at the gym with his coach, keeping equipment organized and the space clean, and trains five days a week to prepare for the national stage.
Wyatt is inspired by his coach, his support team, and his family, who encourage him every step of the way. Competing at the USA Games means everything to him, and he is excited for the opportunity to make his team, his family, and his community proud as he represents Kansas.
