Meet Boostie & Terri

Meet Beulah, also known as “Bootsie,” and her best friend Terri. These two have been inseparable for the past twelve years, living together and supporting each other every step of the way. Their bond is truly special, as they lovingly call each other “cupcake” and hold hands wherever they go.

Bootsie and Terri have been dedicated athletes with SOKS for over 20 years, with Terri having a slightly longer tenure. Before joining Mosaic, Terri competed in swimming, showcasing her versatile athletic talents.

Currently, both friends compete in bowling, track and field, and basketball. Each has a favorite: Terri’s heart belongs to bowling, while Bootsie thrives in track and field. Their passion and hard work recently earned them Gold and Silver medals at the state Summer Games in Wichita.

When they’re not training or competing, Terri and Bootsie enjoy their hobbies together. Terri’s love for music, especially Motley Crue, keeps her entertained as she watches music videos and colors with her “cupcake.” On the other hand, Bootsie is a fan of westerns, with a particular fondness for John Wayne movies. She, too, loves to color with Terri, creating beautiful artwork while they share laughs and cherished moments.

Their friendship is filled with joy and a unique understanding. Often seen holding hands and laughing together, Bootsie and Terri have developed a language of their own, further deepening their connection.

Bootsie and Terri’s story is a heartwarming example of friendship and the spirit of Special Olympics Kansas. Their journey together, both on and off the field, inspires everyone around them and reminds us of the power of camaraderie and sports. Here’s to many more years of friendship.
