Special Olympics Kansas to Host 2024 Special Olympics North America Golf Championship

(Wichita, KS – June 27, 2024) – Special Olympics Kansas (SOKS) is thrilled to announce it will host the 2024 Special Olympics North America (SONA) Golf Championship October 28-31, 2024, at the Crestview Country Club in Wichita, KS. SOKS held a press conference on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Crestview Country Club to make this announcement alongside Vice Mayor Maggie Ballard and Crestview Country Club. 

Wichita was chosen as the host city due to its strong Special Olympics presence and programming and excellent facilities. 

Special Olympics will welcome over 200 athletes and Unified partners from the United States and Canada in October for the 2024 Special Olympics North America Golf Championship. 

“We are incredibly excited and honored to host this great competition here in Kansas,” President and CEO of Special Olympics Kansas John Lair said. “We look forward to showcasing the talent and spirit of Special Olympics in our great state.”

Golfers will compete in a traditional or Unified golf, where Special Olympics athletes and people without intellectual disabilities called Unified partners, compete alongside each other. Individuals, organizations, or companies interested in getting involved with the 2024 Special Olympics North America Golf Championship should complete this interest form.
