Healthy Athletes at Summer Games

June 6 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

Join us for Healthy Athletes at Summer Games, where Special Olympics Kansas athletes can receive free health screenings and wellness education while competing at one of the biggest events of the year.

The Healthy Athletes screenings will take place on June 6, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Maize South High School as part of the exciting Special Olympics Kansas Summer Games.

Healthy Athletes® is a Special Olympics program offered at Summer Games that provides athletes with free health screenings, education, and follow-up resources in a welcoming and supportive environment. Through a team of trained medical professionals and volunteers, athletes receive care across multiple health disciplines designed to identify unmet health needs and promote lifelong wellness. Healthy Athletes® helps athletes compete at their best while building healthier habits that extend beyond competition.

Athletes will have the opportunity to participate in seven different Healthy Athletes disciplines, including:

  • Opening Eyes – Vision and eye health screenings

  • Healthy Hearing – Hearing and audiology screenings

  • Special Smiles – Dental health screenings and education

  • Health Promotion – Prevention and nutrition education

  • FUNfitness – Physical therapy assessments for strength, flexibility, and balance

  • Fit Feet – Foot and ankle screenings and footwear education

  • MedFest – General health screenings and sports physical resources

Volunteers play a vital role in making Healthy Athletes possible. If you’re interested in helping support athlete wellness, you can sign up here:
