The IdeaTek Athlete of the Month honors outstanding Kansas athletes for their excellence both on and off the field. This recognition highlights more than just athletic success, celebrating sportsmanship, leadership, character and the athlete’s positive impact in their communities. Selections are based on athletic performance, community involvement, and exemplary character with the primary focus on what the athlete is doing beyond the game. We want to highlight their volunteer work, jobs, and other meaningful contributions to their communities.
Meet Dallas Rupp
Dallas has been an athlete for 26 years. He competes in track & field, soccer, bowling, softball, volleyball, but his favorite sport is basketball. He also works at Southside Convenience Store in Hays, KS. Dallas loves Special Olympics Kansas, because it gives him a chance to compete – & he’s very competitive! He’s super high energy and loves being around his friends as much as he loves making new friends. Special Olympics Kansas gives him that opportunity.
Dallas frequently golfs with his brothers and loves putting for them or driving the golf cart around. His advice to the golfers playing in this tournament is to: “have the best swing, best putt, and try to get a hole in one.”
